HANOI, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Ten people were injured in a large explosion on Wednesday in Vietnam's central province of Thanh Hoa, suspected to have been caused by homemade explosive materials, Vietnam News Agency reported Thursday.
The incident occurred at around 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday when a suspected homemade explosive device detonated in the living room of a house in Nghi Son Ward, local police said.
The victims were promptly taken to nearby medical facilities for emergency treatment.
Police identified a suspect linked to the case, but later found that he was dead at a petroleum warehouse.
Local police have initiated criminal proceedings on charges of murder and are continuing further investigations. ■
