PHNOM PENH, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia's trade volume with the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) member countries amounted to 3.76 billion U.S. dollars in January 2026, up 14.7 percent compared to the same month last year, said an official report on Thursday.

The country's export to RCEP member countries was valued at 927 million dollars in January this year, up 19 percent compared to the same month last year, said the report compiled by the Ministry of Commerce.

Meanwhile, Cambodia's import from RCEP member countries reached 2,838 million dollars, up 13 percent, the report added.

The report showed that the RCEP remained the major market for Cambodia, accounting for more than 61 percent of the kingdom's total trade volume of 6.14 billion dollars in January this year.

Cambodia's top five trading partners under the RCEP are China, Vietnam, Japan, Singapore, and Thailand, the report said.

Cambodian Ministry of Commerce's Secretary of State and Spokesperson Penn Sovicheat said RCEP, the world's largest free trade pact, has played a crucial role in boosting trade growth for Cambodia.

"The RCEP is a catalyst for our long-term export growth and a magnet to attract more foreign direct investment to Cambodia," he told Xinhua.

Entered into force in 2022, the RCEP comprises 15 Asia-Pacific countries.
