BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Embassy in Brunei hosted a Chinese New Year reception on Saturday, bringing together more than 500 guests comprising a legislative council member, government officials, and members of the business sector to celebrate the festive occasion.
The reception featured a vibrant lineup of traditional performances, adding color and festivity to the evening. Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Chen Shaochun greeted the guests and noted that the year 2026 marks the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, as well as the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of China.
At the reception, guests were treated to an energetic lion dance, a festival drum performance, a Chinese orchestra presentation, as well as displays of Chinese calligraphy and wushu. ■
