BISHKEK, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has relieved Kamchybek Tashiev of his duties as deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and chairman of the State Committee for National Security, the presidential press service reported Tuesday.
"I made this decision in the interests of our state, in order to prevent divisions in society, including among state institutions, and to strengthen unity," the president's press secretary Askat Alagozov quoted Japarov as saying, according to the Kabar news agency of Kyrgyzstan.
By presidential decree, Zhumgalbek Shabdanbekov, who previously served as deputy head of the security services, has been appointed acting chairman of the State Committee for National Security. His candidacy has been submitted to the parliament for approval.
Deputy chairmen of the state committee Elizar Smanov and Daniel Rysaliev, as well as first deputy chairman Kurvanbek Avazov, have also been relieved of their duties.
