KABUL, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- At least three people were killed and three others injured in a traffic accident on the Jalalabad-Torkham highway on Sunday evening, according to a statement from the Nangarhar provincial police office.
The collision occurred in the Samarkhail area when a passenger vehicle collided with a tanker on the highway linking Jalalabad, capital of eastern Nangarhar province, to the Torkham border crossing point. The crash resulted in three fatalities at the spot and left three others wounded, said the statement.
The injured were transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Authorities have urged drivers to strictly adhere to traffic regulations to prevent further loss of life. ■
