KABUL, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- A three-day exhibition of women's handicrafts kicked off in western Afghanistan's Herat province, the local media outlet Tolo news reported on Monday.
Featuring a diverse range of handmade products and artistic creations by local women and girls, the event sought to promote both traditional and contemporary crafts, including carpets, flat-weave rugs, felt items, miniature artworks, paintings, ceramic pieces, laser engravings and hand-carved works, the report said, citing the organizer of the fair.
This follows a similar exhibition held last week, also in Herat, which displayed over 120 intricate pieces of miniature art, calligraphy and painting created by 53 Afghan women artists.
These events underscore ongoing efforts to preserve and promote Afghanistan's rich artistic heritage. ■
