BANGKOK, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's economy grew in December 2025 on a monthly basis due to rises in exports and domestic demand, the central bank said on Friday.

Exports, a key driver of the Southeast Asian country's economic growth, rose 1.3 percent compared to the previous month, led by stronger sales of technology-related and agricultural products, according to the Bank of Thailand.

Domestic demand picked up on the back of higher private consumption and private investment, which partially benefited from government support measures and expanded public spending, said the central bank's Assistant Governor Chayawadee Chai-anant.

Supply-side conditions also improved as the services sector expanded in consistent with trade and tourism activities, Chayawadee told a news conference.

She said industrial production rose thanks to higher petroleum output as refineries resumed operations after turnaround maintenance and increased manufacturing of passenger cars and pickup trucks.

The central bank expects the service sector to continue driving the Thai economy, with trade expanding alongside exports and tourism steadily recovering.
