ALMATY, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan will export a record 12.55 million tonnes of wheat and flour in grain equivalent in the current marketing year of September 2025-August 2026, according to Yevgeny Karabanov, head of analytics at the Kazakh Grain Union.
From September to December, total exports spiked 47 percent year on year to 6.2 million tonnes, driven by a sharp increase in shipments of wheat and feed flour, Karabanov said, cited by the Interfax-Kazakhstan news agency on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan is expected to import about 1 million tonnes of wheat in the current marketing year, with nearly all coming from Russia, said Karabanov. ■
