KATHMANDU, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- Three children and 46 adults lost their lives in different natural and man-made disasters in a month across Nepal, the police said on Wednesday.
As many as 231 people were injured in 614 disaster incidents, including fire, lightning strikes, and animal attacks, between mid-December and mid-January, according to a police report. A total of 134 livestock were also killed in the disasters.
The destruction of 58 houses and 51 sheds caused a loss worth 170.41 million Nepali rupees (about 1.17 million U.S. dollars), the report said.
Koshi Province recorded the highest number of incidents with 170, followed by 152 in Madhesh, according to the report. ■
