ALMATY, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Investments in Kazakhstan's tourism sector rose by 32 percent to over 1.2 trillion tenge (about 2.4 billion U.S. dollars) in 2025, the Kazinform news agency reported Tuesday, citing Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol Myrzabosynov.
The minister said 328 investment projects are currently under development or being implemented under the ministry's portfolio.
In 2025, the number of tourists staying at accommodation facilities in Kazakhstan increased by 12 percent, surpassing 10 million.
In the World Economic Forum's Travel and Tourism Development Index, Kazakhstan improved its ranking from 66th to 52nd place in 2024. The country aims to enter the top 50, the minister said. ■
