ALMATY, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Oil production at Kazakhstan's major Tengiz oil field exceeded 39 million tons in 2025, the press service of the Kazakh prime minister said Monday.
Kazakhstan's national oil and gas company KazMunayGas (KMG) earlier projected Tengiz oil output at 35.7 million tons for 2025.
At Kashagan, the largest oil and gas field in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea, oil output in 2025 exceeded 18 million tons, the press service said. KMG's initial production forecast for Kashagan was set at 18.25 million tons for the year.
The total volume of oil transported via the Caspian Pipeline Consortium in 2025 reached 70.5 million tons, including 63.8 million tons of Kazakh crude, said the service.
The Tengiz oil field is operated by Tengizchevroil, whose shareholders include Kazakhstan's KMG, U.S.-based Chevron and ExxonMobil, and Russia's Lukoil. ■
