ISLAMABAD, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani security forces on Sunday killed three militants in an intelligence-based operation in the country's southwestern Balochistan province, the military said.
The operation was conducted in Panjgur district following reports about the presence of militants, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military's media wing, said in a statement.
The security personnel effectively engaged the militant hideout, resulting in an intense exchange of fire during which the three militants were killed, the statement added.
Weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the site.
The militants were involved in multiple terrorist activities in the area, the ISPR added. ■
