VIENTIANE, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- The Department of Intellectual Property under the Lao Ministry of Industry and Commerce held a workshop on Trade Secret Law in Laos to discuss strategies for protecting intellectual property and promoting innovation amid ongoing ASEAN-Canada Free Trade Agreement negotiations.
The meeting, held in the Lao capital Vientiane on Monday, brought together officials from both public and private sectors, according to the Lao Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
The meeting came at a crucial time for Laos and the ASEAN region, as efforts toward deeper economic integration continue. It highlighted the importance of strengthening the legal framework and cooperation on intellectual property, with a particular focus on trade secrets as a key driver of innovation, investment, and fair competition.
