SEOUL, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- Prices for goods and services among South Korean suppliers rose for the fourth successive month due to higher farm goods prices, central bank data showed Tuesday.

The producer price index (PPI) climbed 0.4 percent in December 2025 from a month earlier, continuing to go up since September last year, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).

The consecutive growth was attributable to expensive farm goods and higher semiconductor prices.

Price for agricultural, livestock and fishery products among suppliers gained 3.4 percent in December on a monthly basis, marking the first rebound in three months.

Producer prices for industrial products, including oil products, increased 0.4 percent last month, slower than the growth of 0.8 percent in the previous month.

Price for coal and oil products declined 3.7 percent, but price for computers, electronic and optical devices advanced 2.3 percent.

Service price was up 0.2 percent on higher costs for the finance and insurance, and the eatery and lodging services.

Prices for electricity, natural gas and tap water expanded 0.2 percent in December compared to the previous month, posting the first turnaround in three months.
