VIENTIANE, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- Laos is developing an import-export approval and monitoring system for agricultural products, aimed at improving trade efficiency and promoting sustainable agricultural development, Lao News Agency reported on Tuesday.
The system, developed by the Lao Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, is designed to serve as a central platform to enhance data connectivity and streamline trade. It will cover key activities, including imports, transit exports, re-exports and the domestic distribution of agricultural products.
Key features of the system include the issuance of electronic phytosanitary and veterinary certificates, quality inspection and product traceability mechanisms, and data analysis and revenue management tools. ■
