YANGON, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar exported over 200,000 tons of rubber in the first nine months of the current fiscal year 2025-26, an official from the Myanmar Rubber Planters and Producers Association told Xinhua on Monday.
From April to December of the current fiscal year, the country earned more than 300 million U.S. dollars from rubber exports, he said.
China accounted for about 75 to 80 percent of Myanmar's total rubber exports, with the remainder shipped to Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea, India and Japan, he added.
Rubber is grown on over 1.6 million acres nationwide. Mon state is the country's main rubber-producing area, followed by the Tanintharyi region and Kayin state, the official said. ■
