KATHMANDU, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- Five people were killed and 12 others injured in a bus accident in eastern Nepal's Dharan in Sunsari district on Sunday evening, said a local police officer.
The accident took place when a bus travelling from Bhedetar to Dharan went out of control and rammed into a local shop.
"All five were killed on the spot," Keshav Thebe, chief of the district police, told Xinhua.
The injured have been receiving treatment in a medical college in the district, he noted. The police are yet to ascertain how many passengers the bus was carrying. ■
