ALMATY, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- Crude oil transportation via the trunk pipeline system of Kazakhstan's national oil transporter KazTransOil reached 45.1 million tonnes in 2025, the highest level recorded over the past seven years, the company's press service said Friday.

According to KazTransOil, its crude oil throughput exceeded 36 billion tonne-kilometers in 2025. Supplies of crude oil to domestic refineries totaled 18 million tonnes in 2025, up 4 percent year on year. Total cargo transshipment volume amounted to 7.2 million tonnes, up 10 percent year on year.

As a result of systematic measures to reduce energy consumption, specific energy use per unit of crude oil freight turnover fell by 2.5 percent in 2025 compared with 2024. Between 2010 and 2025, this indicator declined by 60 percent, the company said.
