ALMATY, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan's national oil and gas company KazMunayGas rerouted about 300,000 tons of oil in December 2025 amid restrictions on supplies through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), the company's press service said Friday.
The oil was redirected via alternative export routes operated by national oil transporter KazTransOil, as well as through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, with onward deliveries to countries including Germany. Part of the shipments was also rerouted to the Russian ports of Novorossiysk and Ust-Luga.
With restrictions on oil intake through the CPC still in place, including those linked to drone attacks, diversion measures will continue in January, the company said.
It also noted that oil shipments from the port of Aktau to the BTC pipeline totaled 1.3 million tons in 2025, and are projected to reach up to 1.6 million tons this year. ■
