KATHMANDU, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Five people were killed and three others injured after a loaded truck met with an accident in Nepal's southeastern Sunsari district on Thursday morning, said a police official.
The truck, carrying tiles and marble, overturned on a highway, leading to the fatal accident. "Five laborers sitting on top of the goods at the back of the truck were crushed under the load of tiles and marble and died on the spot," Chandra Khadka, spokesperson for the district police, told Xinhua.
Three of the injured were receiving treatment at a local hospital, he added. Nine people, including the driver, were on board the truck. ■
