NEW DELHI, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- At least three persons died and a few others were injured when an open-cast coalmine collapsed in India's eastern state of West Bengal, confirmed a local government official on Tuesday.
The incident was reported from near the state's Asansol city.
Dead bodies of the deceased had been recovered from the coalmine, and those injured were admitted to a local hospital, where their condition was said to be stable. ■
