HANOI, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's aviation industry handled 83.5 million passenger trips in 2025, up 10.7 percent from the previous year, marking the highest level ever recorded, local media VnExpress reported Monday.
International routes led the growth, with passenger traffic reaching 46.6 million, up 12 percent year on year, while cargo volumes soared 22 percent to about 1.3 million tons, according to the report.
Passenger traffic on domestic routes totaled 36.9 million, an increase of 8.4 percent, while cargo volume stood at 226,800 tons, remaining flat as compared to 2024.
Vietnamese carriers now operate 113 international routes and 55 domestic ones. Total passenger traffic in 2026 is projected to reach around 95 million, while cargo throughput is expected to exceed 1.6 million tons. ■
