HANOI, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam has set a target of more than 23 billion U.S. dollars in trade surplus in 2026, Vietnam News Agency reported Friday.
According to the Agency of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the country aims to raise total export turnover in 2026 by over 8 percent compared with 2025.
While maintaining traditional markets such as the European Union and the United States, the ministry plans to tap niche and emerging markets, including the Nordic region, and develop specialized products such as organic goods to build competitive advantages, said the report.
Vietnam recorded a trade surplus of more than 20 billion U.S. dollars in 2025, according to the National Statistics Office. ■
