HANOI, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Environment on Friday issued a national technical regulation on exhaust emissions for motorcycles and mopeds, local media Voice of Vietnam reported.
The new regulation, which will take effect on June 30, 2026, sets out four maximum permissible limit levels for hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide emissions.
According to the Vietnam Register, the country currently has more than 70 million motorcycles and mopeds.
An estimated 5,000 qualified facilities will be needed to meet the demand for exhaust emissions inspection. ■
