HANOI, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- Achievements recorded in 2025 have affirmed the resilience of Vietnam's economy in the face of external shocks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said on Thursday.
The prime minister made the remarks at a government conference reviewing socio-economic performance in 2025 and setting tasks for 2026, local media Voice of Vietnam reported.
Citing gross domestic product growth of 8.02 percent in 2025, he said the result placed Vietnam among economies with a high pace of development in the region and globally.
He noted that to achieve double-digit growth from starting in 2026, Vietnam needs to focus on restructuring the economy and establishing a new growth model based on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, state-owned media Vietnam News Agency reported. ■
