COLOMBO, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's Cabinet of Ministers has approved a five-year action plan against human trafficking.
According to a statement issued by the government information department, the National Strategic Action Plan to Combat and Prevent Trafficking in Human Beings for 2026-2030 is structured around four key approaches, namely prevention, protection, prosecution, and partnership, and was prepared with the participation of relevant stakeholders.
Human trafficking remains a concern for Sri Lanka. Recently, a number of Sri Lankans have been lured into cyber scam centers in South Asia, signifying a new wave of trafficking activities targeting Sri Lankans, the Ministry of Defense said recently. ■
