NEW DELHI, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- At least three people died and around a dozen others were injured after a bus lost control and crashed into a tree in India's western state of Rajasthan Sunday night, local police said.
"Passengers told us that the bus driver was driving at a high speed. He was busy mixing some chewing material in his hands and lost control of the steering. The bus collided with a tree by the roadside and overturned, resulting in human casualties," police said.
Those injured were admitted to a hospital. All were said to be in a stable condition. ■
