COLOMBO, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's State Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Corporation (SPMC) has planned to introduce 10 new products to the market and produce 4 billion tablets and capsules in 2026, the corporation said in a statement on Sunday.
The SPMC recorded the highest historical output in 2025, with more than 3.62 billion tablets and capsules manufactured, read the statement, adding that five new pharmaceutical products were introduced to the market in the year.
The corporation's total revenue for 2025 was 27.06 billion rupees (about 87.54 million U.S. dollars), SPMC said.
At present, the SPMC produces 70 types of pharmaceutical products. ■
