KABUL, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- Five people were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger vehicle and a truck in southern Afghanistan's Kandahar province early Sunday, a local police official said.
The accident occurred in Kandahar city, the provincial capital. Five passengers, including a woman and a child, lost their lives instantly, while two others sustained injuries, according to Abdul Bari, the provincial official responsible for traffic incidents.
The official attributed the crash to reckless driving and non-compliance with traffic rules. The injured were shifted to the nearby health center for treatment. ■
