KABUL, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan has approved the construction of 30-bed hospitals in all districts across the country as part of efforts to strengthen the national healthcare system, the official Bakhtar News Agency reported on Saturday.
According to the report, construction is currently underway on more than 50 hospitals, while preliminary work for additional facilities is ongoing. Upon completion, the total number of district-level hospitals nationwide is expected to reach 318.
The initiative aims to expand access to essential medical services and improve healthcare delivery, particularly in remote and underserved areas. ■
