KUALA LUMPUR, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- Two Malaysian ports have set a new record for total container handling volume for the year 2025, with an annual growth rate of 3.4 percent and 14 percent, respectively, according to Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook.
The performance achieved by Port Klang and Port of Tanjung Pelepas reflected Malaysia's growing strength as a regional maritime and logistics hub, as well as the confidence global shipping companies have in the Malaysian port ecosystem, Loke said in a statement on Friday.
"This achievement is the result of continued investment in capacity, efficiency, and digitalization, as well as close collaboration between the government, port operators, and industry players," he said. ■
