SYDNEY, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- A man has died and a teenage boy is feared missing after a boat capsized near a northern Sydney beach on Wednesday morning.
The police force in the state of New South Wales said in a statement that emergency services were called to reports that a boat had capsized near Palm Beach, about 30 km northeast of central Sydney, at around 11:35 a.m. local time on Wednesday.
A man was pulled from the water by Surf Life Saving personnel and was treated by ambulance paramedics, but died at the scene.
A second man was rescued by a helicopter after he was able to climb onto rocks, and an emergency search operation has commenced to locate a 14-year-old boy who may have been a passenger on the boat, police said. ■
