BEIJING, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 jolted Hokkaido, Japan at 1617 GMT on Thursday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 72.4 km, was initially determined to be at 41.23 degrees north latitude and 142.58 degrees east longitude. ■
