ULAN BATOR, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- The exchange rate of Mongolia's national currency, the Tugrik, against the U.S. dollar weakened by 3.8 percent since the beginning of 2025, data released by the National Statistics Office of Mongolia showed Friday.

The depreciation was primarily driven by declining coal revenues, according to experts from the statistical agency.

According to Mongolian Customs General Administration, the landlocked Asian country exported a total of 73.8 million tons of coal in the first 11 months of this year.

The figure was a decrease of 0.3 percent from the same period last year, the administration reported.

The exchange rate of the U.S. dollar against the Tugrik stood at 3,571.66 at the end of November.
