HANOI, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam will have a total of 182 constituencies nationwide for the upcoming election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly (NA), the parliament's portal reported Tuesday.
Under a resolution recently signed by NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man, the constituencies and the number of deputies to be elected have been determined for all 34 provinces and centrally-run cities across the country.
Ho Chi Minh City accounts for the largest share of constituencies and seats, with 13 constituencies electing 38 deputies, followed by Hanoi with 11 constituencies and 32 deputies.
According to the NA's resolution adopted on May 21, the election of deputies for the 16th NA and members of People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term will be held on March 15, 2026. The first session of the new parliament is set to be convened within 60 days after the election. ■
