DHAKA, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh on Sunday held a funeral service for six Bangladeshi peacekeepers, who were killed in a drone attack on a UN peacekeeping base in Sudan's Abyei region.
A military ceremony was held at the central mosque of Dhaka Cantonment in the capital Dhaka, attended by the soldiers' families, senior political figures, and top commanders of the Bangladesh Armed Forces.
Following the ceremony, the bodies were flown to their respective hometowns for burial.
On Dec. 13, a drone attack conducted by a rebel armed group struck the Kadugli Logistics Base, which is part of the UN peacekeeping mission, killing the peacekeepers and injuring nine others. ■
