KABUL, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- Three people, including a woman and two children, were killed after the roof of a mud house collapsed in southern Afghanistan's Kandahar province, the provincial police office said in a statement on Saturday.
The incident took place in Khakrez district, where the victims, all members of the same family, died at the scene. Local authorities said heavy rainfall in the area caused the roof to give way.
Such tragedies are common during Afghanistan's seasonal rains, where weather-related incidents such as house collapses and flash floods often result in casualties due to fragile housing structures, poor infrastructure, and limited early warning systems. ■
