TOKYO, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- A fishing boat capsized Saturday morning off the Naruto Strait between Japan's Hyogo and Tokushima prefectures, leaving a 73-year-old man dead, local media reported.
The Tokushima Coast Guard received an emergency call around 7 a.m. local time, reporting that a fishing vessel was drifting upside down about 1 kilometer from the coast.
The coast guard searched the vessel and found its owner in cardiac arrest around 10 a.m. He was then transported to a hospital, where his death was confirmed.
The reason for the overturn is still under investigation. The coast guard said there may have been other crew members on board at the time of the accident and has therefore deployed two patrol vessels to continue the search. ■
