HANOI, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed after an ambulance crashed into a truck and burst into flames early Thursday morning in southern Vietnam's Dong Nai province, local daily Tuoi Tre reported.
The incident occurred at around 0:15 a.m. local time on the service road leading to a stopover along the Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway in Dong Nai, the report said.
The fire-engulfed vehicle trapped three people inside, while two others managed to escape.
According to the initial reports, the ambulance driver may have been fatigued and failed to reduce speed upon entering the rest-stop area.
Authorities were investigating the cause of the crash. ■
