KABUL, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Work on the construction and repair of rural roads has officially begun in seven districts of Afghanistan's Ghor province, marking a significant step in improving local infrastructure, the official Bakhtar news agency reported on Saturday.
According to the report, the projects are expected to greatly enhance transportation and create hundreds of local jobs. Residents and officials are optimistic that the improvements will raise living standards and improve access to essential services.
In a related development, a new telecommunication site has been established in Kunar province as part of a broader initiative to strengthen infrastructure in the country's remote and rural regions. ■
