HANOI, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's pepper exports surpassed 1.5 billion U.S. dollars in the first 11 months of this year, Vietnam News Agency reported Monday, citing the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association.
The country exported 225,009 tons of pepper during the period, including 192,899 tons of black pepper and 32,110 tons of white pepper.
Black pepper exports brought in nearly 1.25 billion U.S. dollars, while white pepper earned more than 262 million U.S. dollars.
The United States remained the largest market for Vietnamese pepper, accounting for 21.7 percent of total exports, or 48,849 tons, according to the report. ■
