BANGKOK, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's consumer confidence picked up for a third successive month in November, reaching the highest level in six months, supported by government measures to boost domestic consumption and tourism, a survey showed on Thursday.

According to a survey of 2,241 respondents conducted by the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the consumer confidence index rose to 53.2 last month from 51.9 in October.

The upturn indicates that consumers were optimistic about the government's economic stimulus policies, which would lead to a short-term recovery, the university said in a statement.

The government's co-payment subsidy program is expected to improve cash circulation through increasing consumer spending, leading to a more favorable economic environment amid low inflation rates, said the university's president Thanavath Phonvichai.

Despite that, lingering concerns over the economic impacts from severe flooding in parts of the country's southern region, along with the trade war and border tension, could slow down an economic rebound, Thanavath told a news conference.
