MANILA, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- The Philippines' Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on Tuesday reported that the country's merchandise exports rose 19.4 percent in October 2025 compared to the same month last year, extending a ten-month streak of year-on-year expansion.

The DTI said the sustained double-digit growth reflects a strong rebound from the slowdown experienced over the past two years, with key sectors continuing to post improved performance amid recovering global demand.

From January to October 2025, total exports reached 70.43 billion U.S. dollars, up from 61.90 billion dollars in the same period in 2024, marking a 13.80-percent increase.

Electronics, still the country's leading export category, grew by 11.7 percent, rising from 36.54 billion dollars in 2024 to 40.82 billion dollars in 2025.

"This expansion suggests sustained momentum in semiconductor and electronic component manufacturing, supported by both export diversification and increased orders from major trading partners," the DTI said in a statement.

Meanwhile, non-electronics exports outpaced electronics, posting a robust 16.8 percent growth rate. Shipments climbed from 25.35 billion dollars to 29.61 billion dollars, driven by stronger performance in sectors such as manufactured products, minerals, and agro-based goods.

Services exports contracted slightly in the first half of 2025, according to the DTI data.

From January to June 2025, Philippine services exports amounted to 24.43 billion dollars, marginally lower than the 24.65 billion dollars recorded in the same period of 2024.
