ALMATY, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Seven people were killed in a road accident on the Almaty-Bishkek highway in Kazakhstan's southern Almaty region, the Kazinform news agency reported on Tuesday.
Preliminary information showed that a minivan crashed into the trailer of a truck traveling ahead, killing all six passengers and the driver at the scene. Authorities have launched an investigation.
The fatal crash occurred just days after another accident on the same highway on Nov. 25, when a 23-year-old driver lost control of a vehicle and collided with a car, leaving six people dead.
More than 29,000 road accidents have been recorded in Kazakhstan so far this year, resulting in over 1,900 deaths, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Nov. 14. ■
