HANOI, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- The Vietnamese government on Tuesday proposed allocating more than 580 trillion Vietnamese dong (about 23 billion U.S. dollars) from 2026 to 2035 to modernize and improve the quality of education, local daily Dan Tri reported.

The plan aims to standardize and overhaul the national education system, expand access to learning opportunities and ensure fairness in education, according to the report.

The program targets key goals by 2030, including upgrading infrastructure, supporting disadvantaged regions, and building boarding schools for students in remote areas.

The government also aims to invest in eight public universities to help them rank among Asia's top 200, targeting at least one in the top 100.
