KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's state-owned pension fund, the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), reported a total investment income of 25.07 billion ringgit (6.04 billion U.S. dollars) in the third quarter, up 27 percent year-on-year.
The EPF said in a statement on Monday that the rally in global equity markets during the quarter enabled its fund managers to capture market opportunities and lock in gains.
For the first nine months, the fund recorded a total investment income of 63.99 billion ringgit, an 11 percent increase from a year ago. (1 ringgit equals 0.24 U.S. dollars) ■
