At around 10:25 a.m. local time, police received an emergency call saying that a woman was bleeding after having been stabbed by a man wearing black headwear on the basement floor of a building in Akasaka, Kyodo News reported, citing police sources.
The woman sustained serious injuries to her abdomen and hand but was conscious when taken to a hospital, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department said, adding that the suspected attacker fled the scene with a knife-like weapon.
