JAKARTA, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono met with Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlic Radman in Jakarta on Monday to discuss strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.

Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to boosting trade, which reached 144.8 million U.S. dollars in 2024. They expressed optimism that the figure could double with closer cooperation and the signing of the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (I-EU CEPA).

"The I-EU CEPA agreement will contribute to the expansion and diversification of Indonesia-Croatia trade, while opening up opportunities for cooperation in the energy, digital economy, and manufacturing sectors," said Sugiono.

The two sides also discussed investment cooperation in food security, agriculture, and industrial downstreaming, as well as collaboration in education, socio-cultural exchange, and labor mobility.

Diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Croatia were established in 1992.
