JAKARTA, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia has established 18 new immigration offices across several provinces to improve public access, an official from the Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Services said on Tuesday.

"The establishment of these new offices is our effort to improve services to the public. We ensure that areas which have been assessed as having significant immigration service needs can be properly accommodated," said Yuldi Yusman, acting director general of immigration at the ministry, as cited by local media.

The new offices are spread across multiple provinces to ensure more equitable access to immigration services.

With these additions, the Directorate General of Immigration now operates 151 offices nationwide, expected to improve services for both Indonesian citizens and foreign residents.
