SYDNEY, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Three men have been hospitalized with serious injuries after being hit by a car in western Sydney on Friday.

Police in the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) said that the three men were standing outside a business when they were struck by a car that mounted a curb following a collision with another vehicle in Blacktown, 30 km west of central Sydney, shortly after 9 a.m. on Friday.

Ambulance paramedics arrived and treated all three men for multiple injuries before they were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

NSW Police said that the three men were believed to be aged in their 20s and 30s.

The drivers of the two vehicles, also aged in their 20s and 30s, were taken to the hospital for mandatory testing.

Aerial footage from the scene broadcast by the Nine Network showed one of the vehicles lying on its side and a tree knocked over.

Local officers established a crime scene, and specialist police have been deployed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
